18 GENNAIO 2025: LA VILLA DEL SOLE OFFERTA IN “PRIMA VISIONE ASSOLUTA” AL PRESIDENTE SERGIO MATTARELLA

L’annuncio della probabile visita del capo dello stato Sergio Mattarella per solennizzare l’avvio del programma di “Agrigento capitale della cultura 2025” impone una profonda riflessione in forza della grave crisi idrica che attanaglia la popolazione e dei gravi problemi relativi ai collegamenti viari e alle infrastrutture. Sono trascorsi sette anni dalla sua ultima visita nella nostra città. Era giunto il 6 luglio 2017  perpresenziare alla celebrazione del centocinquantesimo dalla nascita di Luigi Pirandello e alla cerimonia di consegna del Premio Nazionale “Luigi Pirandello” e della Targa speciale in favore degli attori Tony Servillo e Michele Riondino. Una giornata impegnativa per il Capo dello Stato che ebbe modo di visitare la casa natale di Pirandello, l’area interessata al cosiddetto ritrovamento del teatro greco, la Villa Aurea per ammirare gli antichi reperti archeologici prestati dal British Museum di Londra. La visita si concluse a tarda sera presso il Tempio della Concordia dove il” Trio lirico” eseguì in suo onore ” L’İnno di Mameli” e il “Nessun dorma” della Turandot di Giacomo Puccini. Una giornata nella terra di Pirandello, Sciascia, Camilleri e Tomasi di Lampedusa. Con la sua presenza nella città che Pindaro defini la più bella dei mortali l’immagine del territorio agrigentino ne uscì rafforzata e gratificata ponendo in sé un importante richiamo ai valori della cultura a sostegno di una terra accogliente, meravigliosa, ricca di tante potenzialità e patrimonio dell’umanità. A sette anni dalla sua venuta, i problemi della città sono sempre gli stessi (infrastrutture da terzo mondo, mancanza di infrastrutture – strade, autostrade, aeroporto, collegamenti ferroviari celeri, crisi idrica ecc. ecc.). İl Capo dello Stato per il 2025 potrà visitare il centro storico, il Monastero di S. Spirito, la Biblioteca Lucchesiana, il teatro Pirandello, il Museo del Palazzo Filippini. Ma il luogo da visitare maggiormente sarà la Villa del Sole che ha consentito alla città di vincere il secondo titolo di Capitale della cultura… del cemento.
