Aeroporto Palermo, voli da record

Solo a Ferragosto i viaggiatori in transito dall’aeroporto di Palermo sono stati oltre 175 mila, il 13% in più rispetto al 2023. Quasi 70 mila hanno viaggiato sui voli internazionali.

Ferragosto e agosto da record all’aeroporto internazionale “Falcone e Borsellino” di Palermo, a testimonianza dell’incremento dei flussi turistici. Secondo i dati diffusi dall’ufficio pianificazione e controllo di Gesap, la società di gestione dello scalo aereo palermitano, dal 14 al 18 agosto la torre di controllo ha lanciato decolli e atterraggi di ben 1.144 voli – l’11,18% in più rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2023 (quando sono stati 1.029) – di cui 431 voli internazionali (+23,85% rispetto al 2023 con 348 voli). I viaggiatori sono stati 175.411, +13,20% rispetto al 2023 (con 154.956), di cui 68.243 hanno viaggiato sui voli internazionali (+24,48% rispetto al 2023 con 54.821 passeggeri). Ad agosto, dalle due piste del “Falcone e Borsellino” si contano punte di 220/240 al giorno, con circa 35 mila/37 mila passeggeri al giorno che transitano dal Terminal. La media passeggeri/volo è di 156. Tra il 16 e il 22 agosto vi sono stati 1.586 voli. L’operatività programmata è stata garantita agevolmente nonostante i tanti voli deviati su Palermo a causa dell’emergenza Etna. Infine, le stime di traffico indicano che ad agosto potrebbe essere superato per la seconda volta il tetto di un milione di passeggeri in un solo mese, come è già successo lo scorso luglio.
