La nave “Ticino” a Licata

Ha gettato l’ancora al porto di Licata la nave cisterna “Ticino” della Marina militare. Ha scaricato 1.200.000 litri d’acqua, ovvero 1.200 metri cubi, ossia 120 autobotti da 10.000 litri ciascuna. Secondo alcuni dovrebbero essere sufficienti per attenuare la crisi idrica tra le province di Agrigento e Gela. Secondo altri la nave “Ticino” dovrebbe ormeggiare spesso a Licata, anche a cadenza settimanale, per sortire minimamente tale effetto attenuante. L’intervento della “Ticino” è stato coordinato dalla Protezione civile regionale e nazionale, capitanate da Cocina e Ciciliano. Il presidente della Regione, Renato Schifani, ha sollecitato l’intervento. E afferma: “Ci stiamo impegnando con tutte le nostre forze per mettere in campo ogni iniziativa necessaria ad alleviare gli effetti della siccità che sta colpendo la Sicilia e molte altre aree del Mediterraneo. Il mio obiettivo non è solo arginare l’emergenza, ma risolvere definitivamente tutta una serie di problemi strutturali nel settore idrico siciliano che si trascinano da anni e che sono in parte causa dello stato in cui ci troviamo oggi. Abbiamo pianificato e avviato un vasto programma di interventi per rendere più efficiente il servizio idrico, opere che la Sicilia attende da troppo tempo e che incomprensibilmente non sono state avviate da chi ci ha preceduto. Un ringraziamento al ministro della Difesa, Guido Crosetto, per l’immediata disponibilità della Marina militare alla collaborazione con la Regione in un momento critico”.
